Send and receive USD via ACH and Fedwire

Deposit and send instructions, recipient details, fee examples, processing times and FAQs.

Use ACH or Fedwire to deposit USD and receive USDC in your Vault, or to send USD to an eligible US bank account. ACH, Fedwire and SWIFT use different payment instructions.

Before you start

UI names in this guide refer to the English web interface. These instructions cover the web flow. Use only a method shown for your account in Cash. Availability depends on your region, account type, verification and the selected banking route. Complete the terms or verification requested before transferring. Use the exact currency, bank details and any reference shown for that method; bank details for one rail are not interchangeable with another.

How to deposit USD

  1. Choose USD bank transfer (ACH) or USD bank transfer (Fedwire), where offered. Complete any setup or verification requested.

  2. Copy the Bank details and any reference exactly as shown. Choose the same ACH or Fedwire rail in your bank and transfer USD. Do not send SWIFT using these details. Save the bank confirmation.

How to send funds

Have the recipient’s full legal name, individual/business account type, bank name, checking/savings selection, matching routing number and account number, and the address details requested by the form. Use the routing number for the selected ACH or wire method.

  1. Open https://www.ether.fi/app/cash/send and select New Recipient, or choose a saved recipient and check the details.

  2. For a new recipient, choose the currency, select the method if prompted, enter a nickname and complete the required fields, review the details and select Save Recipient. Saving a recipient does not send money.

  3. Choose an eligible asset under Pay with. Check which currency the amount field uses and review the amount the recipient will receive. Complete any verification requested.

  4. Select Review. In Confirm Payment, check Recipient Details, Transfer Details, the total to be deducted, fees, exchange rate and any displayed arrival estimate. Complete Memo or Purpose Code only where requested.

  5. Select Sign & Send and complete the security prompts. Use View in History to check the status; a submitted payment is not necessarily delivered. Check the original payment before retrying.

Fees and conversion

  • Two illustrative route schedules are shown below as route-specific examples, not a universal tariff. Additional banking routes or account-specific pricing may differ. The outgoing examples concern eligible USDC-funded transfers.

  • Illustrative route A (only if these fees are displayed) — deposit ACH: $0.50 + 0.10%; outgoing ACH: $0.50 + 0.20%; deposit Fedwire: $20.00 + 0.10%; outgoing Fedwire: $20.00 + 0.20%.

  • Illustrative route B (only if these fees are displayed) — deposit ACH: $0.50 + 0.20%; outgoing ACH: $0.00 + 0.20%; deposit Fedwire: $10.00 + 0.20%; outgoing Fedwire: $10.00 + 0.20%.

Review the fee shown in Cash before you confirm; this is the fee that applies to your transfer. The deposit fee does not describe the cost of an outgoing payment. Fees and conversion can depend on the banking route and source asset. Your sending bank or intermediary banks may charge their own fees.

Processing times

ACH deposits: 1–2 business days (please allow up to 3–4 business days for provider and bank processing). Fedwire deposits: typically same day (please allow up to 2 business days). For outgoing payments, review the timing shown for your selected method before confirmation. Cutoffs, bank processing and any required review can affect delivery.

Example

Illustrative funding-fee calculation: if your ACH deposit disclosure is $0.50 + 0.10%, a $1,000 deposit has a $1.50 fee ($0.50 + $1.00), excluding any bank charges. If the selected route instead shows $0.50 + 0.20%, the same calculation gives $2.50. This is not a live quote; use your own displayed fee.

Frequently asked questions

Can I receive or send third-party transfers?

For funding transfers, use a bank account in your own name and follow the ownership instructions shown in Cash. Do not assume that third-party rules are the same across rails. If someone else will fund your account, confirm the rules for the selected method with ether.fi Support before they transfer. Additional information may be requested regardless of the amount; there is no guaranteed automatic-approval threshold. For outgoing payments, recipient eligibility depends on the selected method and account checks; this is not blanket permission to pay any third party. Select This is my own account only when the receiving bank account belongs to you.

What limits apply?

There is no universal ether.fi minimum for bank-transfer deposits. Individual methods may have a minimum, maximum or provider/compliance limit. Follow the amount and limits shown in Cash; availability of a currency does not guarantee every recipient or amount is eligible.

My transfer is delayed or shows Action Required

Open Transaction History and select the transfer. If it shows Action Required, select Provide details, answer the questions, upload the requested documents and submit your response. If a response deadline is shown, submit before it expires. A response does not guarantee approval or immediate completion. If no action is required and the applicable processing timeframe has passed, contact ether.fi Support with the transfer reference or receipt, amount and currency, date/time and a screenshot of the status.

Can I cancel a transfer or recover a failed payment?

Do not assume a submitted transfer can be cancelled. If you sent to incorrect details, or a transfer failed or was returned, contact ether.fi Support with the payment reference. Support can help check its status and available next steps. Do not resend while the original transfer is being checked.
