I sent crypto to another platform on the wrong network. What can I do?

How to recover crypto sent to an exchange or app on an unsupported network.

If you withdrew crypto from ether.fi to an exchange or app (for example Coinbase or MEXC) using a network that platform doesn’t support for that asset, the funds usually reach the receiving address but don’t show in your account there. ether.fi can’t reverse a transaction once it’s confirmed on the blockchain, but many platforms have their own recovery process.

What to do

  1. Open the withdrawal in your ether.fi transaction history and copy the transaction hash (https://www.ether.fi/app/cash/transaction-history).

  2. Contact the receiving platform, or use its recovery page below. Share the transaction hash, the network you used, the asset and the amount.

  3. Follow their steps. Recovery is decided by the receiving platform. Some charge a fee, and not every asset or network can be recovered.

Sent to your own wallet instead?

If you control the receiving wallet (for example MetaMask), you can often reach the funds by adding the network you used to that wallet. On EVM networks such as Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum and Base, the same wallet address is usually used on every network.
