Send, spend, or withdraw funds.
Borrow or repay funds.

Access your full card number, CVC, or expiry date.
The assistant can only read the information you authorize.
Which AI assistants can I connect?
You can connect Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI assistant that supports adding a connector through a URL.
During connection, the approval screen displays the assistant's name.
Claude and ChatGPT are marked Verified.
Always confirm that the assistant's name matches the application you are connecting.
How do I connect an AI assistant to my personal account?
Sign in to your ether.fi account through the web app:
Go to Settings → AI connections.
Select Copy next to the connector URL:
If you already have a connected assistant, select Connect another assistant first.
Open your AI assistant's settings and locate the option to add a connector, app, or plugin using a URL.
Paste the connector URL and begin the connection.
When redirected to ether.fi, sign in if prompted.
Review the MCP Terms of Use and select Agree and Continue.
Under Select permissions, enable the information you want the assistant to access.
Select Approve and confirm using your passkey.
Once approved, you'll see Finishing up… before returning to your AI assistant.
You can then begin asking questions about your ether.fi account.
Important: You have 10 minutes to complete the approval process. If the request expires, restart the connection from your AI assistant.
Why do I need a passkey to connect an AI assistant?
A passkey is required to confirm that you're authorizing the connection.
Every connection must be approved through an ether.fi authorization screen.
If you haven't created a passkey, you'll see A passkey is required.
To set one up:
Select Set up a passkey.
Go to Security and privacy.
Complete the passkey setup.
Return to your AI assistant and restart the connection process.

Can I connect more than one AI assistant?
Yes. You can connect multiple AI assistants, including Claude and ChatGPT, to the same personal account.
Each assistant has its own connection and permissions.
If you connect the same assistant again, the new connection replaces the previous one. Other assistants remain connected.
Can one AI connection access multiple accounts?
No. Each AI connection can access only one ether.fi account.
Permissions are managed separately for each connection.
How long does an AI connection remain active?
Each AI connection remains active for 90 days from the date you approve it.
Using the connection does not extend its expiration date.
Starting seven days before expiration, the AI connections page displays Expires in and the number of days remaining.
Once expired, the connection displays Access expired.
To continue using the assistant, reconnect it and approve access again using your passkey.
Note: You will not receive an email or notification before the connection expires.
Where can I view my connected AI assistants?
Sign in to the ether.fi web app.
Go to Settings → AI connections.
Review your active connections.
Each connection displays:
Information | Description |
Reads from | The ether.fi account the assistant can access |
Permissions | The information you've authorized it to read |
Connected | The date you approved the connection |
Last used | The most recent time the assistant accessed your account, updated at most every 15 minutes |
Expires | The date the connection will expire |
Select a connection to view its individual permissions, marked Granted or Not granted.
How do I disconnect an AI assistant?
You can disconnect an AI assistant at any time.
Sign in to the ether.fi web app.
Go to Settings → AI connections.
Find the assistant you want to disconnect.
Select Disconnect.
Select Disconnect again to confirm.
The assistant's access is revoked immediately, and its next request will no longer be authorized.
To reconnect later, add the connector again through your AI assistant and approve it using your passkey.
What happens to my information after connecting an AI assistant?
When you approve a connection, the selected account information is shared with the AI assistant's provider.
For example:
Claude is provided by Anthropic.
ChatGPT is provided by OpenAI.
The information may become part of your conversations with the assistant.
How that information is stored, retained, or used depends on the provider's terms, your subscription plan, and your privacy settings.
Depending on those settings, the provider may retain information in conversation history or memory, or use it for model training.
Disconnecting an assistant prevents future access to your ether.fi account but does not automatically delete information previously shared with the provider.
Review your assistant's privacy and data settings before connecting.
What happens if I share my vault address?
If you enable Your balances, holdings and vault address, the assistant can access your vault address.
Your vault address is a public, permanent identifier. Anyone who has it can view associated on-chain activity, including after you disconnect the assistant.
How can I keep my account secure when using AI assistants?
Follow these precautions when connecting an AI assistant:
Recommendation | Why it matters |
Only approve connections you initiated | Authorization takes place through ether.fi and requires your passkey |
Verify the assistant's name | Confirm that it matches the application you're connecting |
Secure your AI assistant account | Use a strong password and two-step verification |
Avoid shared AI assistant accounts | Other users may be able to access your conversations and account information |
Review other connected tools | Content from websites, emails, or files may contain instructions that cause an assistant to disclose information |
Avoid sharing sensitive conversations | Shared chats may contain account information |
Disconnect suspicious connections immediately | This prevents further authorized access to your ether.fi data |
Important: ether.fi will never ask for your passkey, recovery phrase, full card number, or CVC through an AI assistant or any other channel.
If you believe your account information has been exposed, contact Support through live chat.
Can I rely on the totals and calculations provided by my AI assistant?
AI assistants can generate summaries and calculations using your account data, but their results may not always be accurate.
Any totals, reports, or calculations are generated by the assistant and are not independently calculated or verified by ether.fi.
Always check important information directly in your ether.fi account before relying on it.
If an assistant provides a crypto deposit address, verify it in Add Funds → Crypto, including the correct token and network, before sending funds.
