What to Do If You Mistakenly Sent Unsupported Assets to Your Member Vault

Deposited Unsupported Asset to Vault

Updated over a week ago

If you've sent unsupported assets (ETH, USDbC, USDT, DAI, etc.) to your ether.fi Cash Safe Wallet Address but the funds are not appearing in your Vault, please note that these assets are not currently supported by the Vault.
As a result, the funds will not be displayed in your balance at this time, and a refund is not possible immediately. However, there are two potential resolutions that will allow you to access your funds in the future. Below, we outline the situation and the next steps.

Example: Why Are My ETH and USDT Not Showing in My Vault?

The Vault does not yet support ETH or USDT as assets. When unsupported assets are sent to your ether.fi Cash Safe Wallet Address, they are not automatically processed or displayed in your vault balance. Your funds remain safe in the wallet address, but they cannot be accessed until one of the following solutions is implemented.

What Will Happen Next?

One of the following will occur to resolve this issue:

  1. ETH and USDT Support Added: Once ETH and USDT are added as supported assets, the Vault will process your transactions, and the funds will appear in your balance automatically.

  2. Private Key Download Functionality: We plan to introduce a feature that allows users to download their private keys. Once available, you can use this feature to manually restore access to your ETH and USDT.

Based on current development, the private key download functionality is likely to be implemented first. However, there is no estimated time of arrival (ETA) for either feature at this moment.

What Can I Do Now?

At this time, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Confirm the Transaction: Verify that the ETH or USDT was sent to the correct Cash Wallet Address. You can check the transaction on the relevant blockchain explorer (e.g., Etherscan for ETH or USDT on Ethereum) to ensure the funds are in your wallet address.

  2. Wait for Updates: Monitor for announcements from our team regarding the addition of ETH and USDT support or the private key download feature. We will notify users when these updates are available.

  3. Avoid Sending Additional Unsupported Assets: Refrain from sending more ETH, USDT, or other unsupported assets to your Cash Wallet Address until support is officially added.

How Will I Know When the Issue Is Resolved?

We will communicate updates through our official channels, including https://www.x.com/ether_fi and discord #announcement channel. Keep an eye on these for news about supported assets or the private key download feature.

Need Further Assistance?

If you have additional questions or need help confirming your transaction, please contact our support team at discord #support channel or help center at https://help.ether.fi. Provide your wallet address and transaction details for faster assistance.

Note: Do not share your private keys or sensitive information with anyone, as this could compromise the security of your funds.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to enhance the Vault's functionality.
