Understanding the Two Limit Types

Card Limits

Card limits apply specifically to individual cards and control spending on a per-card basis.

Daily card limit

  • Default: $5000.00 USD

  • Applies only to the specific card

  • Refreshes every 24 hours

  • Can be edited as needed

Vault Limits

Vault limits apply across your entire account and all cards associated with it, providing broader spending control.

Daily vault limit:

  • Default: $10,000.00 USD

  • Applies across all cards on the account

  • Refreshes every 24 hours

Monthly vault limit:

  • Default: $10,000.00 USD

  • Applies across all cards on the account

  • Refreshes monthly

How Limits Work Together

Your spending is controlled by whichever limit is reached first. For example:

  • If your card daily limit is $500 and vault daily limit is $10,000, you'll be limited to $500 per day on that specific card

  • If you have multiple cards, each card's daily limit contributes toward your overall vault limits

  • Monthly vault limits provide an additional layer of control over longer periods

Card Creation Limits

To prevent abuse and excessive card creation, we’ve introduced limits on how many virtual and physical cards a user can have active at one time.

These limits are based on your account tier and work alongside a cooldown system.

Importantly, if a card is deleted before its cooldown ends, it still counts toward your limit until the cooldown expires, preventing users from bypassing limits by creating and deleting cards rapidly.

Cooldown Periods

  • Virtual Cards: 7 days cooldown after creation

  • Physical Cards: 6 months cooldown after creation

⚠️ Important:

Cooldown applies even if the card is deleted before it ends.

A deleted card still counts toward the limit until its cooldown expires.

How it Works – Virtual Card Example

  • If a Core user creates 3 virtual cards on June 1:

    • They cannot create more until June 8 (7 days after creation).

  • If they delete them after 2 weeks (cooldown expired):

    • They can create 3 new cards immediately.

  • If they delete them after 2 days:

    • They must wait until cooldown ends (5 more days) before creating new cards.

Physical Card Example

  • If a Core user creates 1 physical card on June 1:

    • They cannot create another until 6 months later (unless they upgrade tiers).

  • Deleting the card early does not reset the cooldown timer — the wait remains 6 months.

Abuse Prevention

  • Users cannot bypass limits by creating and deleting cards rapidly.

  • The cooldown timer locks that card slot until it expires.

  • If a user has reached their limit (including deleted cards on cooldown), attempts to create more will be blocked.

Limit Refresh Times

  • Daily limits: Reset every 24 hours from when they were last refreshed

  • Monthly limits: Reset on a monthly cycle

  • Real-time tracking: See exactly when your limits will refresh next

This dual-limit system gives you granular control over spending while maintaining security across your entire crypto card account.
