How the referral program worked
Eligible users could invite friends to ether.fi using a unique referral code or link. When someone signed up using that referral and began spending with their Cash card, the referrer earned cashback based on their referral's eligible spending.
Referral reward:
• 1% of your referral’s card spending
• Earned for 12 months from their signup date
• Maximum reward: $1,000 per month
Referral rewards were automatically credited when referral completed eligible card transactions.
Who was eligible
The referral program was available for personal accounts only, and only for users who signed up before May 1st. Business and corporate accounts were not eligible.
How referral cashback worked
When a referral made eligible purchases using their Cash card, the referrer received:
1% of their spending as referral cashback
Rewards for 12 months after they joined
Up to $1,000 per month in referral rewards
Referral cashback was automatically credited to the referrer's Vault.
What is cashback debt and does it affect referral rewards?
Cashback debt occurs when a purchase made by a referrer is later refunded or reversed. In that case, the system removes the previously issued cashback to keep rewards accurate.
If cashback debt exists, new cashback or referral rewards may first be used to offset that balance. Once cleared, rewards continue normally.

• Currency exchange services
• Gift cards or stored value cards
• Financial services or investment transactions
• Gambling transactions

Referral rewards only start once your referral signs up using your referral code and begins spending with their Cash card.
If you are not seeing rewards yet, common reasons include:
• Your friend did not use your referral code when signing up
• Your friend has not made eligible purchases
• The transaction has not settled yet
• The transaction has been refunded
• The transaction is later determined to be ineligible for cashback
