Card spending mode: Borrow Mode vs Direct Pay

Understand how borrow mode works with your card

What is Borrow mode?

In Borrow mode, card purchases automatically borrow against the collateral value of your assets instead of spending them. Each purchase using the card adds to your loan balance, which accrues interest until repaid.

What is Direct Pay?

In Direct Pay mode, card purchases are paid 1:1 from your balance. Stablecoins and other similar assets are the only spendable balance, and only those assets can be used to spend with your card. Note: you can still opt-in to enable Borrowing against your assets while in Direct Pay mode. This will allow you to take a loan whenever you'd like against your assets for buying assets or sending money, without it borrowing automatically as you spend with your credit card.

Why was my card declined in Borrow mode?

The decline reason will be shown in your card transaction history. The most common cause when in Borrow mode is that you do not have enough borrowing power to fulfill the card purchase.
