What are xStocks?
xStocks are tokenized representations of publicly traded stocks and ETFs.
When you trade an xStock through ether.fi:
You receive a token designed to track the value of the corresponding stock or ETF.
The underlying asset is held by regulated custodians through the xStocks issuer's structure.
You receive economic exposure, but you do not directly own the underlying company's shares or receive shareholder voting rights.
Your xStocks remain visible alongside your other assets in ether.fi.
You can learn more about their structure in the xStocks documentation
When can I trade xStocks?
xStock trading is currently available during regular U.S. market hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time
Outside regular U.S. market hours, ether.fi will still attempt to find an available route using secondary onchain liquidity. If liquidity is available, your trade may still be completed. However, after-hours liquidity is limited and not guaranteed, so you may be unable to receive a quote until the next regular market session.
Regular U.S. market hours trading is unavailable:
Before 9:30 AM or after 4:00 PM ET
On Saturdays and Sundays
On U.S. stock market holidays
After 1:00 PM ET on designated early-closing days
You can review upcoming holidays and early closures on the official NYSE trading calendar
Is there a minimum trade amount?
Buying an xStock currently requires a minimum trade value of $10 USD.
The amount you receive depends on the available quote, market price, liquidity, and applicable price impact at the time of the trade.
How are dividends and stock splits handled?
Corporate actions are reflected automatically through the xStocks rebasing mechanism:
Dividends are reinvested into additional units of the underlying asset, net of applicable taxes.
Stock splits and reverse splits adjust token balances proportionally.
No manual action is normally required from holders.
