Failed withdrawals

Information on what do to if you experience a failed withdrawal.

Updated over a month ago

Every withdrawal and deposit in ether.fi is a two-step process

To complete a withdrawal or deposit on ether.Fi, users must always go through two separate transactions:

  1. Approval Transaction: This first transaction grants the necessary permissions for the smart contract to interact with your tokens.

  2. Execution Transaction: The second transaction formally requests the withdrawal or deposit.

These transactions can be verified in the same way that you can check for revoked approvals, by using tools such as Debank, and reviewing your wallet’s transaction history.

Can ether.fi compensate me for the gas spent?

Unfortunately, Ether.Fi does not compensate for gas fees incurred due to failed transactions. Gas costs are determined by the Ethereum network and are non-recoverable. To minimize risks:

  • Double-check transaction details before submitting.

  • Use tools like gas trackers to time transactions for lower fees.

My withdrawal failed, what should I do?

If your withdrawal has failed, please follow these steps:

  1. Check Transaction Status: Visit a blockchain explorer (e.g., Etherscan) and enter your transaction hash to determine the reason for failure.

  2. Verify Network Conditions: Congestion or high gas fees can sometimes lead to failed transactions. Try again during a period of lower activity.

  3. Ensure Sufficient Balance: Make sure you have enough ETH to cover transaction fees.

  4. Confirm Smart Contract Interactions: If the transaction involves a smart contract, ensure the contract is functioning correctly and supports the withdrawal.

How can I check if I revoked my token approvals?

If your withdrawal failed, it could be due to revoked token approvals. To verify:

  1. Use a token approval checker like Revoke.cash or Debank.

  2. Search for your wallet address to review active approvals or transactions in general.

  3. If necessary, re-submit the approvals transaction on Ether.fi's main app.

I didn’t revoke any approvals, yet my withdrawal failed. what can I do?

If you did not revoke approvals and your withdrawal still failed:

  1. Retry the Withdrawal: Network congestion or temporary contract issues may have caused the failure.

  2. Contact Support: If the issue persists, reach out to the Ether.Fi support team with your transaction hash and wallet details for further assistance.

By following these steps, you can identify and resolve withdrawal issues efficiently. If you need further help, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team for assistance!
